When the news broke that AJ Styles could possibly go to the WWE and show up at the Royal Rumble, the wrestling world went crazy as everybody knew that he is probably the best wrestler in the world. He was extremely popular even though he never had a role in the biggest wrestling company in the row. Together, with his name, the other rumored name at the time was Shinsuke Nakamura.
Later, the rumors ended up being true, Styles showed up at the Royal Rumble while Nakamura was signing. The only difference between the two is the fact that Shinsuke was sent to NXT first while AJ went straight to the main roster and into big feuds, first with Jericho, then Roman Reigns, John Cena and so on. These two had an amazing match at the Wrestle Kingdom in New Japan Pro Wrestling just not that long before they signed with the WWE.
Since then, everybody wanted to see these two go at it in the ring. Now that they are on the same brand, that is quite possible, if not likely. It is only a matter of time before these wrestlers face each other at the big stage. Maybe they will have a battle on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania 34.
That is a dream duel for many wrestling fans. It is going to happen, but nobody knows when. On this week’s episode of the Smackdown Live, we have seen these two in the same ring for the first time in the WWE. The first interaction between the two on the main roster happened at the beginning of the show, while they also tagged together in the main event and achieved a big win over Corbin and Owens. These guys were on the same side on Tuesday, but we do expect them to be big rivals down the line.
