Before the Wrestlemania 33 event, there were reports that WWE is planning to go with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar as the main event for next year’s show. Lesnar is now the Universal Champion which means that the match would likely be for the title if it happens. But, it shouldn’t happen at Mania, and it shouldn’t be the main event.

The goal of every professional wrestler is to be in the main event of Wrestlemania, the biggest stage in pro wrestling. In the last three years, the only wrestler that was able to achieve that is Roman Reigns as he has been in three straight ending matches with three part-timers. First, it was Lesnar at WM 31, then it was Triple H at least year’s event, while the Undertaker was Roman’ third opponent in the closing duels.

Out of those three battles, he won two, the last two, and was presented as the top guy at the end of the biggest show that WWE has for two years in a row. What will the third coronation of him as the top guy do that the first one or the second one hasn’t done? Nothing. He is not going to gain anything from beating Lesnar in the main event of Wrestlemania 34. It is much better for someone else to get the opportunity instead of Roman. Enough is enough.

Somebody else needs to get a shot at the main event. There is talent on the roster that deserves that spot. Their career could take a big turn in the right direction with that kind of opportunity. Roman doesn’t need it, everybody already knows that the company looks at him as the number one guy and that they are doing everything to push him as a babyface.
