Everyone was wondering when Zootopia 2 will be announced since the success of the first movie was beyond enormous. Namely, it was a billion-dollar hit. However, actor Mark Smith was silent for months now, but he has finally decided to speak his mind on the topic.
Smith is the one who voiced Officer McHorn in the film, and he recently revealed some important details about the sequel of the franchise. This means that any further information on the subject is welcome.
Namely, Smith who got his nickname during his work with the TV show Gladiators in the nineties will be coming back for the second installment of the series. This might mean that all the other members of the cast will reprise their roles, as well.
Ginnifer Goodwin, who gave her voice to Judy Hopps said that she would like this movie to be a buddy cop one and that it would be nice if her character switched roles with Nick Wilde.
As far as Jason Bateman, who voiced Nick, the character inducted into the police service, is concerned, he said that he would like to see the two of them ‘cleaning up the streets.’ There are some speculations that the two might develop some romance in the sequel, but others say that their relationship should remain platonic.
In an interview at the 2017 Golden Globes, directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard were asked about their future plans regarding Zootopia 2. However, they decided not to break the code of silence, saying just that the world of Zootopia allows them to discuss things which are not so common in animated films.
When it comes to ‘WildeHopps’ tandem, Moore asked whether it was possible for a male and female characters to stay friends and why they had to end up together.
All in all, there will be a great number of animated movies in the next two years, so we just have to wait for some more news on Zootopia 2.
