Zero to 60 Designs restored a Ford Bronco as a tribute to Ford Mustang “Eleanor”

You probably wonder just how this “weird” build happened. Well, the fact is that one day a customer came to Kenny Pfitzer, a director of Zero to 60 Designs, with a 1975 Ford Bronco and the most unusual request. Apparently, that customer wanted to transform his Bronco into a tribute to Ford Mustang “Eleanor.”

Pfizer stated that “He said his favorite car of all time was the 1969 Shelby Cobra GT 500”, and since “I’ve never seen a modern take on ‘Eleanor’ reincarnated as a Ford Bronco, so I immediately became interested in taking on this unique challenge.” Thanks to Pfizer accepting this project we have an honor to see the finished product that they named “Eleanor’s Big Brother”. This vechile hosts some of the visual bits and pieces from the car that acquired its fame in the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds”, and joins them with a pretty big list of mechanical upgrades that are there to ensure that this Bronco still can handle its off-roading tasks.

Thanks to cooperation between Zero to 60 Designs and Yukon Gear &Axle Bronco received upgraded driveline, with new locking hubs, driveshafts, a custom 9-inch rear end, and a 30-foot kinetic recovery rope. The lift kit that makes the Bronco look really tremendous is supplied by Skyjacker Suspensions, while Bronco’s skin is covered with a scratch-resistant durable spray that is color-matched to the original 1969 GT 500, and which comes from Line-X Body Armor. Wildhorses 4×4 ensured that the Bronco receives awesome visual upgrades which include new tubular doors, a new hood, and various other aluminum trim pieces.

When you first take a look at the finished vehicle, it firstly still strongly resembles the Ford Bronco but, from certain angles, you can see it paying homage to the classic “Eleanor” Mustang especially with those two black stripes, the aforementioned color-matching process, and large round LED headlights. But the list of enhancements that the 1975 Bronco received is not stopping here; it goes on. Bronco now hosts converted engine from carburetors to fuel injection, a new sound system, digital instruments, 37 inch Mickey Thompson off-road tires on new wheels, RaceQuip five-point harnesses for every passenger, and even a 25-quart cooler for keeping beverages cold. When everything was finished Pftizer stated that “Even though the vehicle was 41 years old, we wanted to bring a modern flavor to the Bronco, but also wanted to make sure it was still raw, aggressive, and purpose-built for the off-road”. Let’s hope Ford incorporates some of these traits to the upcoming 2024 Bronco.
