The UK will be graced by another newcomer from the Jeep family, and it is going to be a new limited edition of the Wrangler called the Rubicon Recon. If you recall, this vehicle was first unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and if you managed to see it, then you know that the company wanted this one to focus on the improved off-road capabilities. This can be offered thanks to hardware updates like a stronger front axle and heavy-duty cast rear differential covers.
This new limited version is based on the existing Wrangler Rubicon model, but it has a few bits that are not Rubicon-like. Those few new things that help it stand out are a set of 18 inch Low Gloss Granite Crystal alloy, a black dual top (both soft-top and hardtop options are also available), and a dual-vented Power Dome hood with a Rubicon decal. Besides this, you will also get a Trail Rated logo, a black fuel-filler door, and a black hard spare-wheel cover, which are there to add to its rugged exterior look.
The interior, on the other hand, features a black and red theme, with red accent stitching on the standard black leather heated seats. It is an offroad vehicle at its core, but it also has some commodities inside to make you feel more at home, and that feel extends over the front door armrests and the console lid which are both wrapped in black vinyl. The front door pockets and the center console feature red accent netting with matching seat belts. Every customer will get two options – two or four-door body style but with only one powertrain option and that is the 284 HP, 3.6 L Pentastar V6 attached to a five-speed automatic gearbox. There are three exterior colors available – Gobi, Bright White, and Granite Crystal.
