Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was interviewed by 105.3 The Fan’s G-Bag Nation Show, and he shared some interesting thoughts. Jones talked about different Cowboys players, but is there a possibility that former Dallas quarterback Tony Romo takes a job as a head coach?
First of all, Jones mentioned Elliott, saying that he would be ready when he returned next week. Even though Zeke has not been allowed to have any contact with the squad, he will be “fit” next week, according to the owner of the most expensive sports franchise.
Jones also spoke of the injuries that have plagued the team, and he said that both defensive tackle David Irving and cornerback Orlando Scandrick did not travel to New York with the squad and they would be questionable for the game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Irving and Scandrick suffered a concussion and a back injury, respectively.
Tony Romo was also one of the topics and Jones praised his abilities as a quarterback and a broadcaster. He is doing well in his new role, but will Romo become a head coach for the Dallas Cowboys, sometime down the road? Here is what Jones said.
“Let’s don’t speculate,” Jones replied. “Tony is very capable of being an outstanding coach in the NFL. It could easily be in the future for him because he just loves the competition part of it. But let me tell you, he’s got things that he wants to do better, things he needs experience at in his [TV] commentary. … Tony is as naturally, mentally as gifted regarding our game, regarding football, regarding nuances that can be really enhanced, which is creativity. I don’t know that I’ve seen his equal.”
