There is an increasing speculation that Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will reveal a 3D smartphone during its upcoming launch event in Seattle, Washington on June 18.
The e-commerce giant is encouraging customers, developers and journalists to request for an invitation to be able to attend the launching of its products. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) also posted a video that ignites the curiosity of many, which leads to rumors that the e-commerce giant will showcase the much anticipated 3D smartphone.
One of the people in the video said, “It moved with me,” while looking at the device—many presumed that it is a smartphone. Others described the device as amazing, cool, flawless, and seamless. One of the young ladies described the device as “very real-life and un-comparable to anything I’ve seen.” One of the young men said the device is intuitive and another asked, “How did it do that?”
Based on the description presented on the video, the user interface of the upcoming device is very responsive to movements. Some people suggested that Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will probably name the 3D smartphone under its Kindle brand.
A recent report from the Wall Street Journal indicated that the e-commerce giant had been demonstrating the device to developers in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle based on information with knowledge about the situation. The sources emphasized that Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) aims to differentiate its smartphone from the crowded market.
According to the people the 3D smartphone highlights a retina-tracking technology integrated in four-front facing cameras or sensors, which makes images look like 3D similar to a hologram. The people explained that the retina-tracking technology senses the movement of the eyes of a user or if the screen moving close to the person’s face.
In March, KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that the flagship smartphone of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is integrated with six cameras. Kuo wrote, “The key feature of the smartphone, we believe, will be the six cameras. Aside from the main camera, which is used to take pictures, and the sub camera, used for video conferencing (these are both found in all smartphones), we think the other four cameras will be used for gesture control, allowing users to operate the smartphone without touching the touch panel.”
Jeff Bezos, the chief executive officer of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will unveil the much awaited 3D smartphone during the event.
