After the draft last year, many people have said that Monday Night Raw got a much better roster and more valuable superstars than the blue brand. But, the general belief just after a couple of months into the brand split was that Smackdown Live was putting together much better shows. They were the program to watch, even though Raw is the flagship show. Lately, that hasn’t been the case as Raws became a bit better while SD Live is sometimes hard to get through.
There are a couple of reasons for this. First of all, Monday Night Raw is better now because they have a great storyline in the main event slot. Samoa Joe and Lesnar did an amazing job going into the Great Balls of Fire pay per view. Now, Reigns’ and Strowman’s feud is added to the main event with Joe and Lesnar, which makes it all the better. When you add Ambrose and Rollins story that started to develop, you have some decent Monday Night Raw shows.
On the other hand, Jinder Mahal as the champion is just not cutting it. He hasn’t done a good job and the storylines involving him are boring. When you combine that with the fact that they are making very bad booking decisions, you have a show that is failing to meet the expectations.
Going into the Summerslam, Raw has just more intriguing feuds to offer and we expect that their matches are going to be good at the biggest show of the summer. We can’t say the same for the blue brand.
