Mick Foley was fired yesterday from the position of General Manager of the Monday Night Raw. In real life, he needs a hip replacement surgery and the writers needed to write him off the TV. After he finishes this intervention, he is not going to be able to go anywhere by plane for almost two months. It was clear that Raw needed a new GM when the news broke about his surgery.
Now, the speculation is going to start about who is going to be the GM of Raw. There are a couple of strong candidates. But, the question also is when will this GM storyline begin and how will it be done. Will there be a story about the selection of the new General Manager, or will Stephanie just come to the ring and say who she picked?
Triple H first comes to mind when it comes to the Raw GM position. He has been on TV for the past couple of weeks and him returning to team up with Stephanie is always a possibility. The flaw in this plan is the fact that he will probably lose to Rollins if the match occurs at Mania. Will he show up right after he loses?
The second candidate is Kurt Angle who is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He might be the guy to show up on Raw after Mania. Angle probably won’t wrestle for the WWE again, but he might come back to the organization and on TV as a full-time act.
Another possibility is Hulk Hogan. He is maybe going to appear at the Wrestlemania 33. The return itself would be good, and there were reports that he is going to be back sooner rather than later. But, if it can make sense as a storyline, the return of the Hulkster could be even greater, and this is the perfect opportunity for Hogan to be back.
