There was a backlash when Russell Westbrook didn’t make the starting lineup. Still, there are three great guards that deserved a starting spot. Stephen Curry, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook all are great guards, but one of them had to be left out. Of course, Russell Westbrook made the team as a reserve. Let’s see who will be joining him off the bench.

Backcourt players: Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors; Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder; Gordon Hayward, Utah Jazz.

Frontcourt players: DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers; Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors; DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings; Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies.

Gordon Hayward and DeAndre Jordan are two first-timers on the Western Conference All-Star squad. Jazz have been one of the best in the West, just like the Clippers, and DeAndre has been the guy that has always been on the floor, healthy and ready to play. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin have missed time with injuries, so this was a perfect opportunity for DeAndre to make his first All-Star team.

Marc Gasol and DeMarcus Cousins are two of the best centers that NBA has to offer as they are putting up monster numbers for their squads. Memphis is playing much better than anyone thought they would while the Kings are still in the hunt for the final Playoff spot.

Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will be representing the Golden State Warriors together with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant that have already made the starting lineup. Warriors are by far the best team in the regular season yet again so having four guys in the All-Star game is justified for a squad like Golden State.

In the past couple of seasons, the West has been a bit stronger than the East. This year, it’s going to be tough to pick who will win this duel between the best that both conferences have to offer.
