Rictor was a character introduced sometime late 1980s and he basically ran through a number of X-titles, including X-Factor and X-Force, as well as The New Mutants. His abilities were to generate seismic energy to basically direct earthquakes at a target, which was pretty cool to see back then. In 2009 Rictor upright kissed his fellow X-Force member Shatterstar which was first ever in a Marvel comic book. Naturally, from that moment this character was open about his orientation, which is pretty normal, plus their relationship became very popular, and it brought writer Peter David a GLAAD award for the portrayal of their relationship in the pages of X-Factor.
