This one is a brain teaser right. Most of you probably know about Batgirl who is the alter ego of Barbara Gordon, but most of you do not know about Batwoman who actually predates the girl by a few years. She was introduced in the mid-1950s to play a love interest for Batman. Why? Well, back then there were rumors that Batman liked men, which was even covered in the Seduction of the Innocent, a book written by psychiatrist Frederic Wertham, who claimed that Batman and Robin have an intimate relationship. Batwoman after that got canceled (the mid-1960s) and resurrected again in 2006 when she was given a new twist and reintroduced as a character that prefers women which represented DC’s effort to offer more diverse characters.
