Based on the Blake Crouch’s novels of the same title, Wayward Pines follows a Secret Service agent who goes to Wayward Pines searching for two missing federal agents, but once he gets there, he realizes that he will probably stay stuck there for the rest of his life. This mystery sci-fi TV series depicts the life of the inhabitants of Wayward Pines who are trapped to live there as every attempt to escape the town is punished by a public execution.
So far, two seasons of this exciting supernatural drama have been released. Since the second one was delivered last year, it has been speculated for quite some time that Wayward Pines Season 3 should see the light of day soon enough. According to GamenGuide, Dana Walden, Fox Television Group chairman and CEO, has recently hinted that fans should expect the sequel saying “I definitely think there could be a Season 3.” She also added: “The producers have a really compelling story for Season 3 that I liked very much. We’re definitely talking about the show right now.”
The series was well-received by the audience, especially the first season which drew 3.8 million viewers. This number was somewhat lower after the Season 2 release (it dropped to 2.4 million), but it would be wrong to jump to the conclusion and say that the upcoming season will have even fewer viewers. On the contrary, it has been estimated that the number is most likely to rise to 3.5 million viewers with the Season 3 release if we take into account the DVR numbers.
