Two teams that missed the Playoffs last year, but were really close to making it, are going to meet in Preseason Week 1. Redskins are going to be looking to take the crown from the Cowboys in the NFC East while the Baltimore Ravens are again going to have some big fights within the AFC North with their long time rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Washington has decided that they are going to keep Kirk Cousins for another year and they are going to pay him a lot of money. The decision still hasn’t been made about whether or not he is going to be their franchise quarterback of the future. Usually, franchise tagging is good for the team, but after two tags, a player gets a lot of guaranteed money which is some thing that Kirk likes a lot.
Reed is going to probably miss this game for the Redskins which is a big hit for them. But, the goal of the Preseason is not to win games so Redskins should be fine. The offensive line is going to be good this year, but the defense is the one that needs to step up and it all starts here against the Ravens.
Speaking of them, they are in big trouble. Their starting quarterback Joe Flacco has had a lot of back problems and we would be surprised if we see him this week against the ‘Skins. On the other hand, their backup Ryan Mallett has looked god awful so far in the camp. Keep still has no team and he was rumored to be involved with the Ravens, but so far, that has not happened.
Since Baltimore is really vulnerable at quarterback, we are going to pick the Redskins to win this match 27:16.
