After Furious 7, the sixth highest-grossing film ever, the audience is more than happy to know that the eighth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise is coming up soon. The new sequel was a strong reason for the series’ cast members to remember their beloved colleague Paul Walker whose death is still a shock to many, even though more than three years have passed since the tragic event. Vin Diesel took the opportunity to post an emotional message about Paul.
This film would be the first one, apart from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), not to have Paul Walker among the cast members. In Furious 7, they had to use all sorts of visual aids along with Paul’s brothers so as to give a proper goodbye to one of the movies’ greatest and most important characters – Brian O’Connor. The ending of this sequel gave us a very touching scene in which both the audience and the cast members got to say their goodbyes.
Furious 7 achieved tremendous success, and it will be difficult for the next movie of the franchise to reach the same heights. Not only was the seventh installment one of the highest grossing movies in the world, but it also gained remarkable reviews as well, with a score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Pretty amazing, if you think about it.
Well, the producers of The Fate of the Furious have tried to catch up to that success. With F. Gary Gray as a director and Chris Morgan as a writer, the new movie was filmed at many different and interesting locations such as Iceland, Cuba, and New York City.
