As for the future of Vice Principals on HBO, there are some good news and some bad news. The good thing is that the hilarious TV show starring Walton Goggins and Danny McBride is likely going to wrap up before 2017 ends. Nonetheless, the bad thing is that the episodes will not start broadcasting until the fall.
Most definitely, this is a downer, because the production has been over on the series for quite some time now. However, it seems like this whole thing may be intended particularly for promoting series to support other words.
For example, let’s look at Insecure. This Issa Rae comedy was broadcasted last fall, but now it is going to the summer taking the spot intended for Vice Principals. The real reason for this might be the network’s wish to provide Insecure with better ratings since it would follow two of their most successful shows – Ballers and Game of Thrones. Considering that neither Ballers nor Insecure will end soon, there is a tendency to try and help the two shows in any way.
When it comes to Vice Principals, there is less of that motivation, knowing that Season 2 will be the ending of the show. Hence, broadcasting the series in the fall makes perfect sense. Whoever loved Season 1 will probably watch it once again for Season 2.
We’re optimistic that during the summer a longer trailer will be published for Vice Principals Season 2. That way everyone can get to see more of the plot and also what HBO is preparing for all of us.
What are your thoughts about the second season of Vice Principals being aired in the fall instead of in the summer? It is pretty debatable whether the fans can truly grasp the reasons behind it or they are simply vexed nonetheless.
