For all you monster lovers out there, we have some good news, because Tremors 6 is coming. And we can tell you when you can see it. You probably won’t get to view it in a nearby theater, since it will most likely come as direct-to-video, but nonetheless. Thanks to Michael Gross, the star of this franchise, it has been announced that Tremors 6 will come back in January 2018.
Michael Gross, who plays Burt Gummer in this movie series, published on his Facebook that Universal has decided on Tremors 6 release date. The film is going to reach us on January 30, 2018. That could be profitable since it will be during that time of the year when movie releases are slow. However, the film won’t depend on box office, because it will probably just end up on a streaming service, such as VOD or Netflix. You shouldn’t anticipate for a long theatrical run. This is what Michael posted on his Facebook:
“You heard it here!!! Universal Studios Hollywood tells me that the tentative release date for Tremors 6 will be January 30, 2018. I appreciate that many of you would like to see it sooner, but I will keep you busy with behind the scenes posts. To some of you, it may come as a surprise that there are 5 other Tremors movies, but that is true. And Michael Gross has starred in all of them. He was also in the prequel, Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, as Burt Gummer’s ancestor. He also appeared in a TV series Tremors from 2003. Jamie Kennedy, who played Gunner’s son in Tremors 5: Bloodlines, will return for the sequel too.
This is the official synopsis for Tremors 6:
“Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the arctic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom, but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid!”
Don Michael Paul will direct Tremors 6, and he also directed Tremors 5: Bloodlines. John Whelpley, the writer of Bloodlines, will also be back for this Tremors sequel. They still didn’t give the movie its official title yet, but keep your eyes open on January 30, 2018, for Tremors 6.
