How to Be Single
A romantic comedy provides us with an insight into how the lives of New-Yorkers look like in their attempts to find their soul mates. However, what we can see in this movie are mostly their failed attempts to do so. And somewhere among casual flirting, drinking cocktails at parties, desperate needs for finding true love, what these people in the big city have in common is that they need to learn that it is perfectly fine to be on your own. Also, a humorous comedy is an attention grabber, and it has found its way towards people’s hearts.
Kubo and the Two Strings
This fantasy action-adventure film keeps the viewers on their toes with its amusing and captivating storyline. Kubo is a one-eyed boy who had his eye stolen when he was a baby. He starts a search for his father’s mythical armor which he needs to use in order to fight a spirit from the past. 102 minute-long movie will definitely leave everyone surprised.
Swiss Army Man
Having Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert at the helm of the project while starring Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, this movie has fulfilled many people’s expectations. A man with a strong resolution to take away his own life finds a dead man on the beach, then befriends with it and together they start the adventures. Outrageously amusing movie delights its audience with an enormous dose of creativity and imagination.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
An adventure comedy-drama gives us a story about a young boy, teenager, who is trying to find himself deep in the mountain ranges while strengthening his father-son bond with Hec. This movie takes us into the marvelous landscapes and is enriched with a plethora of different emotions, especially empathy for outsiders.
The Valley of Love
Isabelle Huppert and Gerard Depardieu reconvene after their son’s suicide. The director Guillaume Nicloux seems to be fond of depicting these kinds of cold relations being renewed. Namely, their son died, but it is as if his spirit is still among them as he is giving them instructions from the beyond. The movie has a twist somewhere towards the ending; however, the audience will be left with a question mark upon watching as the film offers uncertainty and vagueness.
Green Room
A bone-chilling American horror movie leaves everyone breathless upon watching. Directed by Jeremy Saulnier the movie is starring Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, and Patrick Stewart. It revolves around a punk band whose members have to struggle to keep themselves alive, upon seeing something they were not supposed to. All the horror movie fans will enjoy it.
Gods of Egypt
Stories about saving the world especially when intertwined with the theme of a classic mythology are always a good choice for the audience. Having interesting cast members among its ranks, including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Élodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush, the movie gives an excellent and enlightening storyline which is definitely worth of watching.
