The last vehicle on our list is not assembled to race down the tracks, but it certainly deserves to be on the list of high-performance American cars – the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. There are no vehicles such as the Raptor that can easily run through the desert at 80 mph. How about the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2? I agree, but the Blue Oval’s best model is equipped with an authentic frame, engine and a unique body. The structure is strengthened so that the Raptor can endure difficult terrains, whereas the new model is lighter than its predecessor due to the new aluminum skin.

The F-150 Raptor is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 unit that delivers 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission is responsible for sending all that power to all four wheels and as a driver, you can opt for different driving modes such as normal, sport, snow/weather, mud, sand, rock crawling, and Baja. The last one is pretty special because it loosens the electronic nanny’s grip which means that you should get ready for some sideways action and more slip. Fox Racing shocks are used to soften the bumps.

The Ford F-150 Raptor can haul 1,200 pounds in the bed, whereas it can tow 8,000 pounds, which is a really outstanding result. When it is not carrying anything, the Raptor can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, which is still admirable for a truck of its size. It is also cheap as the SuperCab variant costs $49,265 and the SuperCrew version carries the price tag of $52,250.

Could have been on the list: 2018 Dodge Durango SRT. Now it is your turn – tell us which one of these vehicles did you like the most and why?
