The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was teased for months, but Dodge wanted all eyes on the fastest and the most powerful production car in American history. The Demon is powered with the 840-horsepower engine that can help the car hit 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. However, it was hard for Dodge to make the 4,280-pound vehicle that quick.
The carmaker had to modify the 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 unit, plus add the 2.7-liter supercharger and improve some other parts under the hood. Also, to achieve such a power, they needed the race-spec ECU computer and 100+ octane fuel. In addition, the vehicle has bespoke 315-series drag slicks which were barely approved because of the safety concerns. If you want to accelerate quickly, the Demon comes with Drag Mode. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon costs $84,995. The owners of the new car can buy the special insurance through Hagerty and go for one day to a driver training at the Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving.
