This is the time of the year when we pick all of the NBA award winners. Rookie Of The Year is always one of the toughest awards to pick and predict. There is always someone from the late first or second round that jumps out of nowhere and performs on a high level. Let’s see which rookies should be the most successful ones this year.
5. BRANDON INGRAM, Los Angeles Lakers – Ingram was a 2nd overall pick in this years’ draft. He will for sure have a good season, but he is just a couple of years away from playing on that All-Star level. To improve and to be competitive in today’s NBA we think that this player needs to put on some weight. He will start his career by playing behind Luol Deng.
4. JAYLEN BROWN, Boston Celtics – This might be surprising to some, but this man has looked good in the preseason. Celtics management believes in their pick, and we do too. He will be playing off the bench, but still, his impact will be felt on both offense and defense.
3. JAMAL MURRAY, Denver Nuggets – Third on our list is just a pure knock-down shooter. He can be a high-impact guy on this Nuggets team. If Jamal shows good basketball and this team does well in the West, he can be the Rookie Of The Year.
2. KRIS DUNN, Minnesota Timberwolves – Ricky Rubio is probably on his way out of Minneapolis and Kris Dunn will most likely take over his spot. If he is playing good, Rubio will be gone sooner than later, and this man will become a number one threat for the prestige award.
1. JOEL EMBIID, Philadelphia 76sixers – He is still a rookie since he hasn’t played a single minute in the NBA. Joel was pretty good so far in these preseason games, and he just might be one of the main guys in the Sixers’ future. Now, with Ben Simmons out for at least two to three more months, we predict that he should win ROY award.
