This trend in America continued, but that didn’t stop Ford from presenting the next-generation known as Mustang II. Weight was always a large problem for this vehicle, but this model returned to the original size of the 1965 car, unfortunately, loosing almost all of the sporting pretensions. Its performance figures were weak, and it was only a shadow of the original Mustang that lost the throne to the Pontiac Firebird and Chevrolet Camaro. Even though it struggled, the company managed to sell 1.1 million examples of this model in total.
