The best wrestler this year was AJ Styles. He managed to survive a sophomore slump and showed that he is an elite wrestler in 2017. He and Cena headlined the fantastic Royal Rumble in January. Ever since he dropped the title here, he has faced Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens and transitioned to US Title level to assist Baron Corbin in a way John Cena refused to. One of his best matches came against Finn Balor when he replaced Bray Wyatt.
