Source:backpackerguide.nz
These glowing caves are a part of the Waitomo Caves system which also includes the Ruakuri Cave and the Aranui Cave, and as its name says this cave actually glows. The glow comes mainly from the thousands of little glowworm creatures which reflects off the water. Besides the glow, it is also home to one of the most beautiful limestone formations including stalactites and stalagmites produced as a result of water dripping through the ceiling.
