HA! Guess you didn’t see this one coming, did you!? Yes, bellowed Englishman Mr. Bean was a sort of an athlete before he became the most popular actor of our time. Before he started his career on the small and big screen he was a very successful racer, and he competed in the Turbo Cup racing series in the ‘80s, in a mid-engine Renault 5. But this is something a few people really knew, and that is mostly because everyone knows him as a comical, goofy character Mr. Bean which emerged from a half-hour special for Thames Television to feature films based on the character, and several other roles of the same ilk. There is one more thing that you probably didn’t know, and that is the fact that Mr. Atkinson announced, back in 2012, that he is going to retire his character that pretty much landed him all of his gigs. He tried to go back to racing, and he tried it in the rare McLaren F1 which he sadly damaged in 2011, but thankfully our Mr. Bean got out of that accident unscratched.
