These new spy shots of the next-gen Jeep Wrangler are courtesy of Brett Borgard. As you can see the new Wrangler is heavily camouflaged, but that is nothing out of the ordinary since Jeep has announced that it will host an evolutionary design.
That evolution in design means it will have a familiar front fascia and an entire assortment of aerodynamic styling tweaks. Those tweaks are unfortunately very hard to make out now, but we presume it will host front fender vents, a new hardtop, and possibly even a power retractable roof. The design will be something that we have already seen, but the new Wrangler is expected to host an assortment of aluminum components in order to reduce the overall weight and improve fuel efficiency. We couldn’t find anything official yet, but the best guess is that the hood, doors, and tailgate could all be constructed from the lightweight materials to aid the efforts of the weight loss.
As it is reported earlier the new vehicle will not be changed only on the outside, the interior will host a lot of new things and upgrades. Thanks to some earlier spy shots you could see that Wrangler will gladden you with higher quality materials and modern design. It is not yet confirmed by the company, but you can also expect to see a new three-spoke steering wheel (possibly heated) and a revised center stack with improved switchgear. Some additional things will be painted trim, chrome accents, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system.
The engine bay is still a very closely guarded secret, but certain speculations suggest (that make sense to some extent) that it will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0 L four-cylinder, a 3.6 L V6, and a 3.0 L turbodiesel. These engine options are expected to be offered with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission as well as a standard four-wheel drive system because Wrangler is nothing without it.
