‘Tread carefully’ is what someone should have written on a sign and put it on the ground to warn adventurers when they decide to explore this island. The ground below the surface is littered with large voids, so the workers actually have no idea where they are. There is some talk about the void and right before the accident they assumed that it is a minimum of thirty feet in height. Just when they were discussing this, the problematic hose exploded, and chaos ensued.
