A popular fighting video game will be undergoing an expansion when it comes to the characters. Even though the sequel has not yet been released, the producers have discovered some novelties which will be included in the next version.
This incorporation of character Akuma, the strongest character from “Street Fighter,” will take a major part in the new installation. Namely, Akuma will not be in the background, as it is usually the case with guest characters, but the story is likely to revolve around it. However, the game producer Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray are being cautious when it comes to the inclusion of other characters beside Akuma. This is how they explained it:
“Akuma may be a special case. It’s not like other games where we take the character and put him in the character lineup and that’s it. He’s actually part of the story and the game–not just the backstory but actually in the story mode itself. It might be interesting to include some other guest characters, if there was one that really clicked and could bring in a new audience. But at the moment, it’s not something we’re actively thinking about.”
Also, the joint efforts and successful partnership between “Tekken” and “Street Fighter” could be strengthened and fostered in the future as well, but the game producer and designer didn’t want to provide their audience with that information, though they didn’t deny it.
This sequel is expected to arrive in 2017, and it will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The reason that Bandai Namco Entertainment agreed to release it on Windows PC is that it makes it more convenient that way:
“Since we’re developing the game on PC from the start using Unreal Engine, it made it much easier to release a PC version. There are also many markets in which many gamers prefer PC rather than console.”, explain Murray and Harada.
