Yes, this is just a preseason, and the games don’t really have a lot of meaning in terms of the winner. But, the Jacksonville Jaguars have started on a positive note with the win over the reigning, defending Super Bowl champions and the biggest favorites to win it all again, the New England Patriots. Both teams played mostly with their reserves, but a win is a win.
The offense looked really good for the Jags. Henne was active and passed the ball well. If Bortles starts struggling this season and doesn’t improve from 2016, he might need to look over his shoulder as there will be Henne, ready to take over the job. Fournette has some problems with the injuries, but it is nothing really serious. Still, the Jags don’t want to risk anything and have said that their high draft pick probably won’t play anymore in these exhibition games.
As far as the Bucs go, they are going to be one of the teams that are under the radar all year long. Mike Evans is one of the most underrated receivers in the league. Yes, people know that he is good, but the fact of the matter is that he is amazing and people are too quick to forget him when they talk about the best wideouts in the game. He has made an impact in Bucs first preseason game with 59 yards in a really limited playing time.
Evans – Winston duo is going to be deadly during the season, but we don’t think that we will see a lot of that this week against the Jaguars. We are going to stick with the Jags to win this game on their home turf, with the final score being 28:19 in favor of the home team from Florida.
