Star Wars Rebels has the production “already underway” for Season 4, which is officially happening.
When the news was announced earlier this month, Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager, Disney XD said in a statement “The team behind Star Wars Rebels delivers epic storytelling that has captivated fans of all ages across the globe.” He also added, “We’re excited to continue sharing the journey of these fan-favorite rebels with our audience in the fall.”
At Celebration Orlando it was revealed that in fact, this will be the final season of this show. Although this is as sweet as bitter, the favorite characters of the show will have a proper farewell.
This is what we know about the brand new Season 4 of Star Wars Rebels! The highly-anticipated fourth season should be aired on October 16. And there is also a new trailer!
They revealed the first trailer of the Star Wars Rebels final season at Star Wars Celebration 2017. Of course, as expected, it’s an amazing teaser giving a preview of what appears to be the show’s proper conclusion.
As for what to expect in the Season 4 of Star Wars Rebels, here’s a quick update. After a gripping ending of Season 3, the producer Dave Filoni suggested what could happen further on in the show on the Rebels Recon YouTube series.
In Season 4 we will seemingly witness the comeback of Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera. Filoni made a promise that the audience will see “much more of an insight into seeing how that relationship breaks down and breaks apart.”
Also, we will pay a visit to Mandalore, Sabine’s home planet, which was seen quite often in the animated series the Clone Wars. Feloni said, “The longer we’ve gone with this series, the more it just has occurred to me that Rebels really is, in a lot of ways, going to finish Clone Wars.”
He also added “It’s going to give us an ending for so many things that I didn’t get to finish. That was never intentional, that was never the goal. But it’s kind of worked out that way. Some of these characters have come into it, and I think that’s a good thing in a way, that they’re kind of a partnered series, while exactly explicitly connected, there is a shared story path for many characters it it, which I think is a good thing.”
Additionally, it was said that Season 4 “might be possibly, possibly, possibly when you get to see an X-wing.” We sure hope that will happen!
