BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) recently conducted a study and the results revealed that while most of the smartphones are used for entertainment purposes, but Indians have a different perspective for their smartphones. This study was conducted by the research firm GfK and BlackBerry commissioned it.
Smartphones increase productivity
The results of the study reveal that the smartphone devices help in increasing the productivity of the employees, and also enhance the communications that take place between colleagues. The users of smartphones get more flexibility and their lives get simplified.
“Indian users perceived smartphones as enablers of productivity by saving time, enhancing communication and collaboration with colleagues, providing more flexibility and simplifying their lives,” the study said.
Participants of the study were the employees of various types of companies such as SOHO, SMB, and enterprise across 10 countries and 9,500 in totality. A cross-section of users across various brands of smartphones was represented by the participants.
Users want to be more in control, deliver greater impact and attain increased success and therefore they value those features and functionalities that enable them to do this, according to the findings of the current study.
BlackBerry users more motivated
Business smartphones are used for varied purposes of which the most important one is getting the things done efficiently as informed by 69% of the participants while 67% indicated its usage for improvising the productivity. Users of smartphones do not seek to complete tasks for the sake of doing so; rather, they want to do it in a manner that has a good impact on their work. The sense of achievement they gain is also greater.
Users of smartphones can also choose when and where they want to work from as smartphones grant them the flexibility. Two-third of the surveyed employees agrees to this fact. Hence, they are not limited by the boundaries of workstation or time limit of 9 to 5. Workers feel that they have better control over their productivity.
Not only this, smartphones also help in saving time for the employees. The smartphone users can save more than 5 hours every week by using smartphones for work. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) users are more motivated by achievement and personal rewards compared to those using competing platforms, says the study.
More productivity helps the employees in making a mark in the company and also in the society they work for, and 43% BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) users were found to be more likely to agree with the above fact.
