Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai, aka Shimoseka, is an anime series which represents an adaptation by J.C.Staff studio. At the helm is Youhei Suzuki as the director, this show was first brought to life on July 4, 2015, on AT-X, and later on Tokyo MX, KBS, TVK and the rest of Japanese channels.
The English translation of the series would be Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist, and in North America, it has been licensed by FUNimation, while in New Zealand and Australia by AnimeLab and Madman Entertainment to Simulcast.

The storyline of the series shifts us a bit further into the future. There we face some changes such as “Act about public order and good morals” being adopted. For this reason, any traces of immorality in any kind of magazines or programs were forbidden and had to be destroyed immediately.
This is not all as there was one more law introduced according to which even mentioning some words related to indecency were not allowed. The residents were obliged to carry so-called “Peace Makers (PM)” around their necks, which detected these words. As a consequence to this, new generations have no knowledge of (about) love and things that come with it. But what happens when some people go against the law?
When it comes to the next season, the J.C.Staff studio has not given any official announcements on whether the show will have the next sequel or it will be canceled. Stay tuned for more information when they come out!
