The Netflix original series Sense8 have won over many fans, and now they are fighting to save the show. This is a science fiction drama created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski, and it has been recently canceled. Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton and Brian J. Smith played the strangers who are living in different parts of the world, but who are emotionally and mentally linked.
Fans were shocked to see Sense8 having the same faith as The Get Down and Marco Polo. This is rather surprising because the second season of the series received higher critical and audience acclaim and on Rotten Tomatoes it earned 79 percent from the critics and 92 from the fans, which is an extraordinary result.
Even though the show was praised and it wasn’t supposed to end (the cliffhanger) Netflix decided to cancel the series causing dissatisfaction among fans, who apparently cannot accept this fact and they are trying to get the show renewed through petitions. Despite that, it appears that this one is definitely canceled.
This is what petition stated: “The cancellation of Sense 8 – Season 3 has been completely unexpected. We don’t know any reasons yet, however, it’s quite strange that a show that has received such positive response from a wide and heterogeneous audience, gets canceled.
Being fans of the series, we would like to know a valid explanation, arguing why “Sense 8″ has been cancelled. We believe it is necessary that tv shows and movies which, from its content, provide the world with a message of love, diversity and respect. All these values have been brought to life by the characters of the show, and the message it has is extremely important for society.
We understand whatever the reasons could have been, yet we believe that as a visual product, Sense 8 does have all these values we recognize, and has perfectly managed to transmit it to the viewers. It is not just a tv show, to watch for fun, instead of just being that, Sense 8 has given the world a new way of seeing others: with acceptance, love and understanding.”
Sense8 was too expensive to produce since it was filmed in Chicago, London, Berlin, San Francisco, Nairobi, Mumbai, Mexico City, Seoul and Reykjavik for the first season. The second season was filmed in Amsterdam, Argyll, Chippenham, Sao Paulo, Redwoods, LA, Malta and Positano and the budget for the second season was 9 million dollars per episode, which is a double compared to the first season.
Follow us to see whether the fans will manage to make the showrunners extend Sense8 for another season.
