Matches between Sasha Banks and Charlotte in 2016 were pretty amazing. They had a couple of classics as both women are more than capable of putting on a show every single time when they step into the ring. The storyline, on the other hand, has been disappointing as it seems that people in WWE, especially on Raw, don’t know how to book the Women’s division.
Sasha is now a three-time women’s Champion, with no real title reigns to show for it. She hasn’t done a thing with the title, and neither did Charlotte with three of her four title reigns. They are switching the title holder very often, and they are doing it the same way every time. Charlotte’s opponent is booked to beat her on Raw, but she always wins on pay per view. But, Sasha Banks really doesn’t seem to care about the company switching the title holders so quickly.
“Fans can complain all they want but they are still watching every week because they want to see what’s next, we have them on the edge of their seat and they never know what is coming. That’s what’s so great about WWE, we are here to entertain you, we are here to make you watch with a mystery eye, like what’s going to happen. Even when I show up on Raw I have no idea what is going to happen, they surprise me as well. Raw is the better brand, I was the better champion and when I want to reclaim that championship, I will.”
The matches itself are very good, but the storyline is not, and many people are not really on the edge of their seat, the booking is too predictable for that to be true. Wrestlers are there to entertain the fans, and they are doing a good job with what they are given, but most of that is pretty bad on Monday Night Raw, which is not the better brand.
