After the release of the Galaxy 8, Samsung also plans to release another flagship device called Galaxy Note 8. According to the South Korean company mobile chief DJ Koh, the new Note device that will be launched will be much better than the previous Note 7, but it will also be safer, and it will bring so many innovations. However, the characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have yet to be confirmed, and because we have no concrete information about the new flagship phone, we will focus on rumors, leaks and reports.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has had a rather unconventional history, and at one point the fans didn’t know whether the new Note would be launched or not. Last year, as we all remember, the Galaxy Note 7 faced some battery issues which led to an explosion of the device, so it had to be recalled. After that, so many people believed that the Galaxy Note 7 would be the last one of this kind from the South Korean tech giant and that the Note 8 would never appear on the market. Luckily, this is not true, as Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Date
As PC Advisor reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 should be released in August this year, but we are still waiting for official confirmation. The reason why Samsung unveils their flagship phones, Note in this case, around August, is to get it on the market before Apple introduces its iPhone in September. However, some of the reports state that because of the Note 7 fiasco last year, the company will launch their Galaxy Note 8 earlier this time.
Note 8 Specs
Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are piling up, and there have been some contradicting reports about the new device, but in general, it appears that the new phone will be really good. Samsung Note has always bragged with the core hardware, and the future flagship will probably use Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos chip with ARM Mali-G71 GPU. Furthermore, 6GB to 8GB of RAM is predicted and at least 64GB of internal storage.
Name
All of us expect to see the new device that will go under the name of Galaxy Note 8 because the predecessor is dubbed as the Galaxy Note 7. But is it possible for the new device to be called differently? Samsung had already used the Note 8 for an old 8-inch S-Pen-equipped tablet four years ago. Taking this into account, there is a slight possibility that the new smartphone will use a different name.
Features
The Samsung Galaxy Note has always had extraordinary features, including the Note 7 who came with a well-received iris scanner. The Note 8 should also come with some latest unique features such as a modified speaker-equipped S-Pen and a report by Patently Mobile wrote about the new technology. Here is what they said:
“When the pen is being stored in the Galaxy Note body, the speaker, which is in the pen shaft, carries sound through the pen and exists at the top of the pen via a new speaker. When the pen is removed from the Note device the sound simply travels from the internal speaker through the pen shaft opening.”
Considering that Samsung signed the massive $8 billion deal with audio firm Harman Kardon, it is possible that the next flagship device will be the first equipped with a special speaker and have far better audio capabilities compared to the predecessors but also to its rivals. Apart from this innovation the Galaxy Note 8 should also be the first one with a true 4K display, which has also been rumored for the Galaxy S8. What is likely is that the S8 will come with a 2K screen, whereas a 4K display will be featured on the Note 8.
Samsung underlined that the new Galaxy Note 8 would be far safer than its predecessor. The company cannot allow another fiasco after the Note 7 literally caught fire, and with the new device, Samsung is looking ready for this year.
