Galaxy Note 7 was a good device, but after more than a few cases with its battery bursting into flames, it became an immediate disaster, and people all across the world had to return their phones, and the entire lineup was eventually discontinued by the company.
According to some rumors, this should have marked the end of the Galaxy Note range, but Samsung has had other plans when it confirmed that the Note 8 was coming and that Note 7 users could get it for significantly less money.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Date
Usually, Samsung launches the Note range at the IFA tech show in Berlin which takes place in early September. However, this year things might change because of the last year fiasco, and we might see the new Note 8 on August 26. Samsung even confirmed that Galaxy Note 8 will arrive in the second half of the year during its Q1 2017 earnings call.
Galaxy Note 8 Price
The Galaxy Note 8 starting price remains unknown, but considering that the Galaxy S8 starts at £680, we expect the Note 8 to cost more than £700.
Note 8 Specs
First of all, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.3-inch 3840×2160 Super AMOLED curved infinity display, but it should also come with S Pen support and improved iris scanner. In addition, the fingerprint scanner will be embedded into the screen, plus the new Bixby assistant Samsung developed will also be a part of the new Note 8.
Note 8 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM, whereas you will be able to take high-quality shots with the vertical dual-lens camera. USB-C connectivity is expected, and a 3.5mm headphone jack will be kept on the Galaxy Note 8 which will come with 64 GB built-in storage and microSD expansion. The phone will also feature Android 7.0 Nougat and wireless charging support.
Thanks to 91mobiles, we can see a video which shows the first Galaxy Note 8 render. If this is indeed the true render, the device will not be as handsome as many people expected since it’s going to feature a camera bump at the rear. Still, you can see a video here and tell us whether you like the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
