There have been a lot of talks about this Samsung device and the company released a lot of teasers for it. Thankfully the latest teaser released on the Chinese microblogging site the Weibo revealed its official release date – the 21st of October.
As I previously mentioned the campaign that was supposed to announce this phone intensified this last month with several teasers, but before that we were lucky to have seen it on a few benchmark websites. The latest news is that the Galaxy C9 has passed Tenaa, the Chinese telecommunication certification authority, which is a big step. From those earlier info leaks, we managed to find out that it is supposed to host a 6-inch display and be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, as well pack as much as 6 GB of RAM. The optics of this phone are off the hook with a 16-megapixel camera at its back paired with a LED flash, but wait, here is the kicker, it will host the same one at its front (without the flash of course). It will be equipped with the powerful 4000 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner because that is more and more becoming a must for any new device if it wants to swim with the top level competition.
The Tenaa listing that we came across provided some info suggesting that the Galaxy C9 will have a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) AMOLED display and will run on Android 6.0.1. Furthermore, it will host features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS that are hard to circumvent lately. Some other sources have made an interesting statement saying that there is a possibility of a Galaxy C9 Pro device that is supposed to be unveiled at the same time as the C9 but very little or none actual information is backing that up. Guess we will have to wait and see.
