It’s a bit odd when you have somebody that is not even an official member of the WWE roster as a top favorite to win the first-ever Royal Rumble. That is probably the only time that we are going to see somebody is favored to win the match that they aren’t even announced for the match. That was the case with the Royal Rumble of 2018.
There were thirty women that entered this match and WWE had more than enough time to bring her in. We knew that if she were to show up that it wouldn’t be before number 25.
Later on, after 29 names have been already called and there was only one woman that entered after that. Everybody expected that Ronda was going to come out at number 30. When Trish Stratus came out at 30, the fans were both shocked that the greatest Diva of all time enter the match and shocked because there was no sighting of Ronda Rousey.
When Trish did enter the match, the fans already kind of knew that Asuka was going to win the match. She went on to become the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble winner.
Then, just when she needed to decide who is she going to face at Mania, we have seen somebody that we expected to enter at number 30 – Ronda Rousey.
She didn’t say much, but she did make an impact and the crowd went crazy for her. She congratulated Asuka on the win but pointed to the Wrestlemania logo. Then, she shook Stephanie’s hand and also pointed to Mania logo. The crowd loved that she indeed made her WWE debut in Philly, but we still don’t know what her role is going to be.
