This gesture is something that players do when they want to signal for the offside position. Of course in this kind of situation Bilbao defenders should be the ones that signal for offside, not their opponents player. Ronaldo is raising his hand in the air in this manner often when his teammates score goals, but this time it definitely looked like he wanted for Morata’s goal to be canceled.
We are all aware of the fact that Portuguese is one of the World’s most selfish players, considered to be so by many fans and pundits, but this would really be crossing the line. This kind of behavior would be unacceptable for his teammates and fans both of Madrid’s and football fans in general.
Reasons, why we want to believe in this story, is when we saw another confirmation of his selfishness that came just minutes later when he decided to shoot on the goal while two of his teammates were in better position.
