Roman Reigns failed to beat Brock Lesnar for Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans. He will have a chance for a rematch, but in the mid-time, he’s nourishing another big rivalry. During a WWE live event in Cape Town he sent out a message to Samoa Joe: “While you’re on Twitter talking selfies @samoajoe_wwe, I’m in #WWECapeTown holding down #MyYard!”
These two fought a couple of times, and their matches are always engaging and fun to watch. Thanks to this, Reigns and Joe have an on-going feud for some time now. At the start of their storyline, Samoa Joe was dominating Reigns. But later on, The Big Dog managed to get a foothold, and won when it was the most important to do so as he managed to defend his IC Championship.
Their feud was on hold while Joe was recovering from a foot injury. But, as soon as he returned to full strength, he revived their story by calling out Reigns during a promo and asking for a re-match at PPV: Backlash.
Roman seems ready to answer him. During WWE live event in Cape Town, he had a triple threat match with Elias and Braun Strowman. But, in the midst of all of that, he managed to give an answer to Samoa Joe. You can see him sending a message to Joe in the video below.
But, before facing Samoa Joe, Reigns will have his rematch with The Beast Incarnate for the Universal Championship. The clash will be held at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. Reigns and Samoa Joe will face each other at Backlash regardless of the fact that now after the superstar shakeup Samoa Joe is a member of Smackdown.
Among all superstars currently contracted with WWE, Reigns and Joe are the best performers. Their match and buildup that will lead to it will not disappoint at any level.
