On the images we have provided here, you can see that this pretty big sedan is doing its winter testing on a frozen lake somewhere in Sweden. But there is also something else that you can probably notice and that is its resemblance with older model Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles, but I think it goes without saying that this one does not have anything in common with the two famous British brands. Well, anything but the ripped-off look.
As we managed to find out, this one is possibly a prototype of the next-gen. Presidential limousine set for Russia. This one is called the Kortezh (Russian for cortege), and to make things interesting enough, it won’t be only available to the Russian President, but to any other customer in Russia, that can afford it of course. We also managed to find out that the company behind it is preparing four different body styles – a limousine, an SUV, a minivan, and a sedan, which by chance is the one you see on the pictures here.
According to some Russian sources including the Moscow Times, we found out that the production phase for this vehicle is just around corner mainly because the first deliveries are slated for the end of this year. The company planned to make a total of 5.000 units from all variants, and the final ones will roll off the assembly line sometime in 2024. From the previously leaked patent images, we could see that it will feature a retro-inspired design with short front and long rear overhangs, which is just confirmed by these spy shots. To make things even more interesting, a report from October 2014 stated that the vehicle is being developed in cooperation between the Moscow-based Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Institute and Porsche.
The powertrain which will move this beast could be a turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 with roughly 800 horsepower (596 kilowatts). But for now the powertrain options are all just speculations, and that is exactly how they should be taken. Since the production is so close, we will have verified info for you soon. Stay tuned.
