Even since Marshawn Lynch decided to hang up the cleats and decided that he has had enough of professional football, the Seattle Seahawks haven’t been the same. Their offense has struggled behind a shaky offensive line. Nobody really feared their rushing attack ever since Lynch decided to step away from the game. Well, that might have changed on Saturday Night.
All season long Seattle was trying to find that guy that is going to make a splash in the running game. They might found their man in Thomas Rawls. A player that was struggling to gain even average chunks of yards on the ground had the best performance of his NFL career in the Playoffs.
Seahawks wanted to pound that football and control the clock. That’s why Rawls was given the ball 27 times in this duel. He made the most of his opportunities and finished the game with 161 rushing yards and one score.
Detroit really struggled to put the points on the board in this one. All they got were two field goals, and that’s never enough to beat the Seahawks in Seattle.
Russell Wilson did his job properly as he went 23/30 for 224 and two TDs. Running game always opens up the passing game and this duel between the Lions and Seahawks was a prime example of that.
Seattle won this match 27:6 and they are moving on to the Divisional Round. This squad will be traveling to Atlanta to face the Falcons next week, a team that they already beat once this season. It was a tight game, and we expect more of the same next week.
