The last two NFC champions have come from the NFC South. Nobody expected both of these teams to make it, but they had a great run in the postseason. First, it was the Panthers that went to the Super Bowl 50, followed by the Atlanta Falcons trip to the Super Bowl LI. Can they make it again and which one is better right now?
4) New Orleans Saints – They have traded Brandin Cooks to the Patriots as they do have some talented guys already on the offensive side of the ball. The defense is pretty weak, and the draft will need to fix that for the Saints if they want to compete with others this season.
3) Carolina Panthers – Cam Newton and this offense had a beautiful 2015, but have fallen flat last year and have proven to be a bit overrated. When you add a couple of major holes in the defensive backfield, you have a team that needs to show a lot, but will they be able to do it.
2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – This defense for the Bucs is on the rise. They were one of the best crews in the whole NFC last year as they led the team to a winning record. On the other hand, Mike Evans now has a guy to play with at the wide receiver position. Bucs are ready for a Playoff push.
1) Atlanta Falcons – This squad should be just as good on the offensive side of the ball as they were last year. The defense is young and quick and is ready to have a good season after the experience that they now have after a trip to the Super Bowl.
