When will Season 2 of The Ranch come to Netflix?
Netflix web series The Ranch was first released in April 2016, but not to its full extent. The first season was actually split into two parts, each of which consisted of 10 episodes. So, what was released in April was just a first batch, while the second one came out on October 7, 2016. Netflix was confident enough to order another 20 episodes for season 2 of the sitcom right after the first part of the first season, so the fans probably won’t have to wait for too long to see further development of the series plot.
Release Date of The Ranch Season 2
The exact release date has not been scheduled yet, but the new season is highly likely to debut sometime in 2017. It is also worth mentioning that such an approach to releasing the series part by part will be used in the future as well, which makes it easier for the impatient fans all around the world to bear the pressure of waiting in suspense.
Having starred together in That 70’s Show, Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson take on the lead roles in this sitcom as well, but this time they are also the executive producers of the series. They will work together with the producer and the executive producer of Two and a Half Man, Jim Patterson and Don Reo. Besides the two reunited actors, The Ranch also stars Elisha Cuthbert, Debra Winger, Kathy Baker and Sam Elliott. The series follows the life of the Bennetts who live on their ranch in Colorado. Ashton Kutcher plays the role of the younger son of the family, Colt, a semi-professional football player who eventually comes back home, while Danny Masterson’s character, Jameson “Rooster” (Colt’s older brother) lives in his shadow.
Netflix executives were sure the success of the show was guaranteed with dream team (Kutcher and Masterson) in the lead roles, but it turned out that Sam Elliott and Debra Winger were the ones whose performance was the focus of attention. The truth is, the series has received mixed reviews from critics, but the audience response is more than satisfactory. Thus, the upcoming season is also expected to be highly rated and very popular.
The Ranch Cast
Main
Ashton Kutcher as Colt Bennett, a former high school and college football star who returns to his hometown after a fifteen-year absence for a tryout, but ultimately helps his father and older brother on their family ranch.
Danny Masterson as Jameson “Rooster” Bennett, Colt’s older brother. He has lived and worked on the ranch since Colt left to follow his football career. Despite living in Colt’s shadow he is far more competent on the ranch as well as a more level headed thinker. He has however been just as irresponsible as Colt, drinking too much and sleeping around.
Debra Winger as Margaret “Maggie” Bennett, owner of Maggie’s, and Colt and Rooster’s mother. Maggie is separated from Beau and lives in a trailer behind the bar she owns. Much more lighthearted and caring than Beau, her company and advice is often sought out by the boys on how to deal with problems, especially those concerning their father. Maggie is something of a hippie and is an avid marijuana grower.
Sam Elliott as Beau Bennett, Maggie’s ex-husband, and Colt and Rooster’s father. A Vietnam War veteran, he has worked the ranch since returning from the war and taking it over after his father died. Beau is very hard to get along with, perpetually annoyed with everyone and everything, he detests many modern amenities and is always angry at the boys over their antics. Beau appears to be a Republican but at times seems to despise all politicians regardless of affiliation.
