For how many years we have been listening to the rumors and stories about Rambo 5 that will be produced and with Sylvester Stallone in the main role again. Now, another movie is coming into play for which audience is waiting to come, Creed 2.
Let’s start with Rambo franchise. It all began with 1982 movie First Blood, and two more were produced in 1985 and 1988. Long break, until 2008 when the fourth movie was filmed, and soon after that we have received info about the fifth installment, but it seems that this one will not happen, or at least not with Sylvester Stallone.
As we all know these movies are very action packed and that can be challenging even for Stallone that recently turned 70. Here is what he stated about the possibility of returning in Rambo 5: “The heart’s willing, but the body says ‘stay home'”, Stallone said. “It’s like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else”.
There is always a chance for production to star someone else but since the first movie as soon as anyone mentions Rambo we immediately think about Sylvester Stallone. Some kind of a spin-off is a possibility, but it seems that there will be major changes with the lead role.
In the case of “Creed 2” things are slightly different simply because there is no action on the level like for Rambo. We could hear MGM boss, Gary Barber saying: “there’s no doubt that we’re making a Creed 2”. Big change for the Creed 2 might be the director as Coogler might take the job on Black Panther. Sylvester Stallone stated regarding this: “There’s a diminishing time acceptance of a sequel. Three years is a little much”.
Since the first movie “Creed” reached and crossed $100m, it is very logical and expected for a studio to make another one. This is pretty much anticipated to happen and is an ideal situation since Stallone will not be under fire as he would be if Rambo 5 would be filmed. While he does look significantly younger than 70, it seems that hardcore action movies are behind him.
