Double Fin has had its hands full with the release of a new game Headlander as well as a remastered version of Day of the Tentacle. But that is not the end of it. Namely, the studio has decided to delight Psychonauts fans, as the new game is coming out on February 21. After a long period of silence, the new installment Psychonauts 2 has prepared new details to show.
The audience has not been given any information regarding the sequel for a long time, but now, with Starbreeze Studios throwing in $8 million to the project, we can just sit back and wait for its release. The publisher is said to make a profit of 60% upon the release. Many will find Starbreeze familiar from Chronicles of Riddick games, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, as well as, the cooperative shooter Payday 2.
A Double Fin founder also verified the news on the next title. The game is said to have a new feature which is related to the in-engine gameplay. The trailer, called a Quarry Art test, depicts a forest which will be the setting of a next installment. However, Zak McClendon, who is the game’s designer, said that this demo does not represent the final version of the game, but only a test for models instead.
Due to its history, the audience is having large expectations of the new title, and the producers are well aware of the fact. It is certain that the sequel will bring lots of improvements compared to its original, especially in the area of controls, cameras, and other mechanics.
Psychonauts 2 is set to come out in 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
