Now, when the Dallas Cowboys season is finally over, we can take a look at Dak Prescott’s and Ezekiel Elliot‘s performance as a full body of work. Yesterday both of them were great which concluded a very successful campaign. We are not going to take a look at their stats but will judge them by the impact they had on the team.
Dallas kind of went away from how they played almost all season long in yesterday’s game. They were giving the ball to Elliot, but not as much as they should have. Green Bay’s defense had no answer for him, and yet, Dallas passed the ball way too much. Yes, Dak was good, but he didn’t complete 14 of his passes, and that stopped the clock. Last time we checked, time was ticking after every single rush that Elliot had.
Prescott had a great season, and he has been sensational yesterday. But, there is no doubt about the fact that Ezekiel Elliot, combined with this offensive line that is driving this squad and will be a force pushing this team forward. Dallas Cowboys‘ defense wasn’t exposed as much as they should have been because of that running game. If they had given the ball to Elliot more than 30 times yesterday, their defense would be even better.
Elliot has led the league in rushing and was amazing in a playoff game. With two runs, he was able to get first downs all season long, and he was capable of doing that against Packers. Yes, Prescott is valuable, just like every QB, but Elliot and the running game is what gets this team going. That is why Elliot is getting our vote for the Rookie Of The Year.
