Undefeated Eagles are coming off a bye week, rested and ready to produce. As one of only three teams that didn’t suffer a loss, they will be looking to stay at the top of the division. Lions will be their next challenge, and it seems like this will be another win for Carson Wentz and his crew.
Although a decent team, Lions haven’t shown a lot in some games. One week they are looking like a powerhouse offense, the other week they are one of the worst teams in NFC. And they have lost to the woeful Bears who just can’t seem to do anything right this season.
They have smoked the Eagles last yeat. 45:14 was the final score of that game, but this is not the same Eagles team. This is new coaching staff, new system, and a new quarterback. They have played up to their strengths so far and have been able to hide their weaknesses. Philly’s rookie signal caller has shown that he won’t make many mistakes and he just does everything that Eagles need him to do.
The other big difference is that this defense is far better and improved. Right now they have the 3rd ranked defense. That is not going to continue, but you can expect them to be in the top 12 defensive teams. If they can keep playing like that, they will be the favorites to win this division.
Matthew Stafford will put up some points in this game; Lions are playing at home, but we just can’t pick them in this duel. This might be the match in which Eagles will slip up, but having two weeks to prepare for this Lions team should be enough. Carson Wentz will pull this off in Detroit with the final score of 24:20 in favor of the Eagles.
