Five years since our favorite star has passed in a very tragic manner. Five years, can you believe that?! Time really flies, but there is something that will make all of us remember Paul. Yes, it is a documentary about the life and death of Paul Walker, which was confirmed and formally announced on Tuesday. The project will be helmed by Adrian Buitenhuis, the same director that made I Am Heath Ledger and it will premiere on Paramount Network, according to Deadline.
The documentary will be named I Am Paul Walker and it will basically consist of interviews with Walker’s cast mates and closest friends who, still after all this time, mourn his death. As these things usually do, the documentary will pretty much go through his movie career with a special spotlight on “the actor’s passion for the world’s oceans and marine life and his work to help rebuild Haiti after the devastating earthquake.” The production side of this documentary will be done by Derik Murray from Network Entertainment, and if you do not know he is the guy who previously made films on John F. Kennedy Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Bruce Lee.
Just to jog up your memory, when he died, Paul was on a break from filming the seventh film in the Fast & Furious franchise. He was in a Porsche with his friend and business associate Roger Rodas. During their drive, Rodas somehow lost the control of the vehicle, it spun and hit into trees after which it caught fire and claimed the life of both Walker and Rodas, right on the street in Santa Clarita, California.
Sadly, Paul had an only daughter that he left behind, Meadow who is 16, and she lived with Paul for only two years before his unfortunate accident. She is now the sole beneficiary of his fortune, and since the accident, she has lived with her mother Rebecca Soteros.
As far as the cast and some other details regarding the documentary I Am Paul Walker, they will most likely be revealed in the coming months, so stay sharp and on the lookout for the new info!
