New England Patriots are one of the best teams in the NFL. Bill Belichick is still the best coach in the league and one of the best GMs in the NFL. He has made some major moves during his tenure with the Patriots, but perhaps the biggest move would be trading his star tight end Rob Gronkowski. Should he pull the trigger?
There is no doubt about the fact that Gronkowski is the best TE in the game. We are going to go as far as to say that he is the best at his position of all time. He is a beast on the field when he is healthy. But, that doesn’t happen as often as it should.
He has missed a lot of time with a lot of different injuries. Gronk will have his third procedure on his back since 2009, and he will have his 9th surgery overall. Should Bill trade him away while he can get some major pieces in return?
It’s sad to say it, but he probably should. There is no reason for anybody to believe that Gronk is going to be able to defeat his injury demons any time soon. You can only hope that he is going to be healthy when it’s time to play postseason football.
Patriots could get some major draft picks in return. There would be a lot of buyers. But, the Pats need to wait. They shouldn’t be the ones to make the first move. When you do that, you are putting the price on your talent. Bill knows that, and he is going to wait for the right offer.
On the other hand, big name as Gronkowski could easily fit into any squad and would certainly bring great numbers to any team. But. As Belichick knows that he might be out of the game because of the injuries so does the other know. It is interesting to see if anyone will go for this man.
